As a single parent, Shawna had been laid off from her previous position as a Call Centre Manager following more than 15 years of experience in supervisory positions in call centres and market research companies. Before coming to Open Door Group, Shawna had applied to over 150 positions and came to her intake appointment with a detailed list of tailored cover letters, applications and positions she was targeting, but with no success so far in her job search.
Shawna attended one week of Professional Job Search Workshops, training to gain a WorldHost certificate, and was able to get a new outfit for her job search and interviews. Using the unique job leads generated by our team, Shawna applied to a variety of positions and received help with interview strategies.
Shawna aced an interview for a billing specialist position in Vancouver, and was formally offered full-time, permanent employment. She began working the following week, and received help getting new office attire and transportation to and from work for several weeks.
